Author: Skyroot

Founded in 2018 by former ISRO scientists Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka, Skyroot pivoted quickly from component engineering to full vehicle integration. The company successfully launched India’s first private rocket, the suborbital Vikram-S, in November 2022. Capital strategy differentiates them: Skyroot raised India’s largest space-tech round ($51M Series B) led by GIC in 2022, followed by a $27.5M Temasek-led round in 2023. This capital buffer allows them to absorb the delays inherent in orbital vehicle testing that kill smaller competitors.
